Bridget St. John, 8:30

Thursday, June 1

Bridget St. John is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. She released three classic albums on John Peel’s Dandelion label in the late 1960s/early 1970s – Ask Me No Questions, Songs for the Gentle Man, and Thank You for… After the release of her fourth album, Jumblequeen (Chrysalis), Bridget relocated to New York City and began to move within the city’s underground folk music and singer-songwriter circuit, recording material that was recently collected on the new box set, From There / To Here (Cherry Red). Bridget has collaborated with musicians including Kevin Ayers, John Martyn, Michael Chapman, and Steve Gunn, and she is the inspiration behind Scottish singer-songwriter Hamish Hawk’s 2023 song, “Bridget St. John.”
