Billy Keane
Friday, September 15
Billy Keane is a wanderer, a taker of the scenic route. To live lightly, to be seek truth, to live a life of contemplative, empathetic expression and creativity – these are the foundations of Billy’s life philosophy, and can be found thematically throughout much of his writing.
Billy started writing and performing in his preteens, and his adventures have taken him all around the world, within various communities, and throughout various phases of inspiration and experience. From college drop out to world traveller, to commercial deep sea diver, to socially minded entrepreneur, and always the traveling singer songwriter, Billy’s path has a been a winding one.
His sound – a blending of Neo folk/Americana with indie rock and country – is inspired by his life, his many adventures, and his insatiable curiosity about the world at large. He can be found performing his resounding anthemic songs either as a solo act, or with his touring band, The Waking Dream.
Billy’s debut solo record, Too Much To Let It Go, has been streamed many hundreds of thousands of times, and his next record – perhaps the most authentic to his true sound, “Oh, These Days” will be released in fall of 2023.
Billy’s musical legacy has taken him to venues, communities and festivals all over the U.S., and he has had the honor of sharing the stage with or supporting household names like: James Taylor, Yo-Yo MA, Molly Tuttle, The Gin Blossoms, Blues Travellor and many others.
In 2014 Billy co-founded the ever popular collaborative songwriter project called The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow (2020 release “Band Together” featuring Steve Gorman of The Black Crowes, and Pat Sansone of Wilco”). The Whiskey Treaty has toured nationally and received wide acclaim, both for their live records and studio album.
